The 2014 Le Prieure showed well from barrel and so it continues to do so now in bottle. It has a commendable, quite understated bouquet with blackberry, undergrowth and damp moss-like scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp and tensile tannin, well focused, not a powerful Saint Emilion or one that is driven by tons of fruit. This is more restrained but nicely detailed, touches of sea salt and seaweed lending character on the finish. Not long term, but that is a moot point.
