恵まれた立地の実力シャトー

2017年はボルドー全域で葡萄の開花時に遅霜の被害に遭いましたが、日照の良好な立地の葡萄畑や収穫を制限して造られた実力シャトーのいくつかのワインは素晴らしい評価を得ています。ジロンド河口に近いシャトーの所有する葡萄畑は春の遅霜の影響は全く受けず、そうした優れたワインの典型と言えます。ワインアドボケイト誌のプリムール評価時のポイント『90-92』点が、その後ポイント『94』点へ大きく評価が上昇していることからもこのシャトーの実力が伺えます。

セラーリングが楽しみな白ワイン

コス・デストゥルネルは2005年にメドックのグレの葡萄畑から白ワインを作り始めました。美しい色合いと表情豊かな香りと味わいのコス・デストゥルネルの白ワインは、その生産量の少なさと、ボルドー白ワインの中でも数少ない、長期にわたってゆっくりと展開する優れたセラーリングの可能性を秘めたワインとして少しずつ認知されるようになり、近年価格が上昇気味となっています。

A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the 2017 Blanc comes sailing out of the glass with bold notes of white peaches, fresh pineapple, lemon tart and lime cordial plus suggestions of honeysuckle, beeswax and musk perfume with a touch of wild sage. Medium-bodied and with a beautiful silky texture, the palate is packed with vibrant stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors, sporting a racy line of freshness, and it finishes long with an invigorating lift.

Cos d'Estournel started making this white wine in 2005 from the Goulee vineyard. The 2017 Blanc is composed of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. It gives beautiful, expressive grapefruit, ripe peach and passion fruit notes with touches of baker’s yeast, powdered ginger, nutmeg and beeswax. Medium-bodied, vibrant, racy and with great finesse, it has a very long citrus and tropical fruit-laced finish. With plenty of structure and intensity, it should age reasonably well.
