クロ・デュ・ロワ2014年はプリムール評価時の『86-88』点から、ポイント『89』点へ評価が上昇しました。非常に濃厚な色合いで、香りも濃いレッドベリーフルーツとサンダルウッドのアロマが広がります。ミディアムボディでしっかりとしたタンニンが味わいを引き締めます。ワインはようやく飲み頃を迎えており、ポムロルのクラシカルなスタイルに近い魅力的なワインになっています。価格以上の品質です。

The 2014 Clos du Roy had a deep color compared to its peers. The nose felt a tad pinched despite aeration: dense red berry fruit, cola and sandalwood aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, crisp acidity, a pleasant freshness coming through on the second half that counterbalances the slightly obdurate structure. Clean and poised black fruit define the finish of this well-crafted Fronsac that I feel has improved since its showing during en primeur.

The Clos du Roy 2014 offers plenty of toasty red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite oaky in the mouth but with sufficient fruit on the finish to back it up. Give this Fronsac a couple of years in bottle.
